Programme Description

This qualification provides learners with the foundational skills and knowledge required to perform basic web development tasks. it covers essential competencies such as understanding and creating databases, developing web pages using HTML, and applying web development fundamentals. Learners will also gain an understanding of web design tools and principles for creating effective user interfaces.

The qualification is designed to be accessible and flexible, making it ideal for individuals interested in starting a career in web development. It prepares learners for entry-level roles in web design and development or further study in the ICT field.

Qualification Requirements

This qualification will be awarded to students credited with a minimum of 50 credits, and who have met the requirements of all compulsory sections.

 Who should apply?

• • Ordinary Level certificate or equivalent, or
  • National Vocational Certificate in ICT—Foundation (Level 2)
  • Basic computer, English communication, and numeracy skills 
  • Individuals already employed in the field of ICT but without formal qualifications 

Programme Description

This qualification recognises individuals with the advanced skills required for web development. Learners will gain competencies in advanced HTML coding, executing complex database queries, and developing server-side web applications. It also includes the use of content management systems (CMS) and principles of fault tolerance and disaster recovery to ensure secure and reliable websites.

In addition to technical expertise, learners will develop entrepreneurial skills by learning how to identify business opportunities and create business plans, preparing them for both employment and self-employment in the digital industry.

This qualification will be awarded to students credited with a minimum of 63 credits, and who have met the requirements of the programme. 

Who should apply?

• School leavers who have obtained a minimum of 25 points in the NSSCO examinations or the equivalent thereof and who wish to pursue a career in Information Technology
• Students who have completed a Level 4 qualification in ICT—Web Development (Level 4) 
• Individuals already employed in the field of ICT but without formal qualifications.
