The Vocational Training Centre delivers industry-aligned programs in skilled trades, such as electrical engineering, boiler making and hospitality services. Emphasizing practical training through workshops, apprenticeships, and partnerships with local industries, we prepare students for immediate entry into the workforce. In addition to developing technical skills, students receive training in workplace safety and project management. Our graduates are ready to meet the growing demand for skilled labour in Namibia, contributing to infrastructure development and trade innovation, with opportunities for further specialisation in their fields.

At Lingua, the Language Center is dedicated to empowering students, faculty, and staff with the communication skills they need to thrive in today’s global community. Our mission is to foster language proficiency and cultural awareness through innovative teaching, immersive experiences, and tailored support. Whether you are looking to improve your academic writing, learn a new language, or enhance your professional communication skills, the Language Center is here to guide you on your journey.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE COURSES

English Language courses are offered on full-time and part-timebasis for a year. These courses are divided into two semesters namely January and June intake.

Short courses are also offered for two months after completion, students are free to join the full time or part-time courses of their choice, for a year. Students will be assessed to determine in which level they can be placed according to the NQA assessment policy.

ENGLISH BEGINNERS (PRELIMINARY)

What can preliminary-level learner of English do They can understand and use very common everyday expressions and simple phrases for immediate needs. They can introduce themselves and other people and can ask and answer questions about personal details, such as where they live, things they have and people they know.

ESOL (ENGLISH FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES)

ESOL is the name Lingua International Training College Lingua has given to its program for teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

This course program is designed to meet the needs of students for whom English is not their dominant language. The goal is to prepare students for success in school and in society through the development of cultural awareness and English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

GENERAL ENGLISH

The overall aims of General English are :

  • To enable the learner to communicate effectively and appropriately in real life situation
  • To use English effectively for study purpose across the curriculum.
  • To develop and integrate the use of the four language skills i.e. Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
  • To revise and reinforce structure already learnt.

FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The following foreign languages are offered at Lingua international Training College:

  • German
  • French
  • Portuguese
  • Spanish

NAMIBIAN LANGUAGES

The following Namibian languages are only offered as short courses:

These courses can be offed as short courses which are specialized classes that aim to teach specific knowledge and competencies in a short amount of time, e.g. two months. Unlike college or post-graduate studies which cover fields and industries more holistically, short courses specifically discuss specific skills.
